One disadvantage of being an amateur backroads wanderer is that I’m constantly in a state of wanting to pack a bag and run away. Another is that it’s easy to fall behind on household chores.
I have a long list of outdoor projects I had hoped to complete this month but it’s looking doubtful – between rain, allergies and wandering around – there simply hasn’t been a lot of opportunity for productivity.
I jokingly told a couple of female coworkers that I was gonna have to find a man so I would have help with the weedeating, pruning, power washing and other assorted chores awaiting attention. Both of them are married and aptly suggested that I just hire help. Ha ha.
I’m too cheap for that because I need all my funds for adventures! So here’s hoping I can knock out a bunch of chores later today so I can go out to play on Saturday without too much guilt!
Housework – pah! It’s a curse on us adventurers!
No kidding! I spent last night getting things ready for outdoor chores this afternoon. Its 6:07 am and raining! Here’s hoping the rain moves through!
Rain – the perfect excuse to ignore the outdoor chores and get exploring!
Stuart! I moved all my porch furniture into the yard so I can power wash the porch before doing the rest of the house today! Technically I can still do that in the rain (unless it’s storming). At least the furniture is getting a nice bath…. lol
lol – yes it’s getting a prewash! That reminds me – I have ot power hose the drive way this weekend.
Adulthood is overrated. Get your chores done so you can go out and play!
Fully agree – I HATE being an adult!
Of well. It just makes the adventuring time that much sweeter.
and 6:07!?!?! – Why aren’t you asleep!
Ha ha. I always wake up early.
Everyone deserves some time off in the sun. Child and adult alike.
This is so true! Sadly, the work piles up when you spend most of your time playing. It’s time to be responsible. 🙂
Rooting for you. ❤
Haha! Thanks!!! Have a great day and do something fun!!
Being a renter and living “out West” all my life, power washing is a new concept for me. I was shocked to learn that the green stuff on mom’s porch and house here in Arkansas is mold that requires power washing. And of course thanks to me putting bird feeders near the house, the mold is not the biggest power washing problem. Now the question is do I buy a power washer or hire a power washer. My neighbor across the street is always looking for work. Does he have a power washer? Hmmm…
Hire it done of you can afford to. I bet there’s someone in the neighborhood that would do it for a decent price. It’s fine if you’re house is pretty clean but that mold is hard to get off.
You convinced me! I will ask my neighbor first since he’s chomping at the bit to do work for us and then I will ask on NextDoor app if he’s like “Naw I ain’t got no pressure washer!”
Lol. Good luck!!!
My parents came to help yesterday and, even with help, I was wishing about an hour in that I had just hired someone. This morning, as I lie in bed, trying to pry myself out from under the covers for an adventure, I really wish I had hired it done!
Ok I am now 100% convinced. I will NOT order a pressure washer from Amazon and read the manual, I will ask my neighbor and the NextDoor app. But not today. LOL Did you ever make it out and about?
I went to a big antique and vintage fair with a friend today. It was a fun day but I have a sunburn now!
